The objective of this study was in vitro efficiency of new orally and intraveniosly administred trifluroquinolone during clinical evaluation in Yugoslavia. Minimal inhibitory concentrations method (MICs) and diffusion method were used to investigate the susceptibility of 226 recently isolated hospital the strains of 20 bacteria species to fleroxicin. The results thus obtained were used for regression analysis. Excellent fleroxicin activity against most Enterobacteriaceae was confirmed, with MICs90 of 0.045-0.78 mcg/ml. The correlation between MICs the diameters of the inhibition zone was used for regression line construction.
