Pesticides used against arthropods constitute a major group of inputs in modern agriculture. Their intensive uses in pests control selected individuals able to survive and reproduce themselves in presence of pesticides. Many cases of resistance to one or several insecticides were reported in Myzus persicae Sultzer in all border countries of Belgium. Moreover, the broad diversity of mechanisms involved in pesticides resistance displays the adaptive capability of aphids. In Belgium, no many informations are reported on this phenomenon although many efficacy lacks of treatments against insects pests are regularly observed in fruit trees and glasshouse crops. It is necessary to organize a monitoring and a rational management of the resistance to insecticides in our country in order to avoid the apparition of insects displaying multiple resistance.
