Study on behaviourreaction of Bulgarian Simmental male calves reared on pasture

To determine the behavior of non castreted male Bulgarian Simmental calves reared on pasture during the summer an experiment was carried out with 30 calves with 270 kg live weight.Calves stayed on pasture from 7.00h to 21.00 h and a nonsystematic graizing was applied.It was found that the basic ethological reactions of calves with live weight 290 kg at pasture conditions were within the norm for that livestock category : laying - 17.85%, staying and moving - 48.0% in total, graizing - 30.49 %.The applied technology for fattening th male calves did not influence negatively their ethological status.
