About the time of spring crops sowing and the beginning of spring vegetation of wheat, the productive moisture supplies accumulated in the two-meter layer of the basic for the plains of South Bulgaria leached smolnitsa soil type, which is characterized with high moisture capasity, reach 255-288 mm, i.e. 93-97% of the FMC.The relative share of the upper half-meter layer in the total consumption of soil moisture is between 34.5 and 44.2% than of the one-meter soil layer -between 62 and 77.8% which that of the 101-200 cm layer varies from 22% in cotton to 37.7 in sunflower.Participation of the consumed soil moisture in the evapotranspiration of the non-irrigated crops is 54-63% including 12-13% from the 101-200 cm layer.
