Dairy products in the nutrition of Estonian children

The current paper is focused on the consumption of milk and dairy products in the food of Estonian children. It has been noticed that the consumption of these products is small. In order to find out the quantities and kinds of dairy products with different fat content, used in the nutrition of children, a ceratin study was carried out, the results of which are reflected in this thesis. It includes a research on the consumption of milk and dairy products by children of 3-7 and 10-14 years of age in Tartu, Tootsi and Vohma. In order to find out the consumption of milk and dairy products with different fat content, a questionnaire was used, based on the nutrition questionnaire for heart and circulatory disease patients. The results indicate: limited use of dairy products of higher fat content; decrease in the consumption of milk and dairy products when growing older; increase in the consumption of fat-free products when growing older; the small consumption of yoghurt
