The new barley variety 'Roosi' has been developed at the Jogeva Plant Breeding Institute. 'Roosi' has been obtained by crossing breeding line 1338 ('Abava' x 'Nadja') and the Danish variety 'Piggy' in 1989. The grain yield, grading, tillering and disease resistance of 'Roosi' have been better compared with the standard varieties 'Anni' and 'Elo'. 'Roosi' is medium late variety and suitable for food and feed
