Carabid species composition and their abundance was established in four different crops - barley, carrot, straw- and raspberry. The highest number of carabid species was found in the barley field. 42 different species from 15 genera were established. The richness of species is an obvious result of the biodiverse margins of the barley field. Even 6 species of large carabids from Carabus genus were present. The most common species was Pterostichus vulgaris in the barley field. 19 species from 9 genera were established in the carrot beds which were surrounded by cultural lands. Speciments of Amara and Harpalus were most numerous. In comparison with the barley field the total number of carabids was smaller by half in berry beds. Ground beetles species from 14 genera were found in straw- and raspberry beds. Speciments from genera Pterostichus, Harpalus and Amara dominated
