Mycotoxins cause significant losses in the poultry industry. The result of mycotoxicosis depends among others on the quantity of the toxin, the length consuming contaminated feed, the metabolic system and age of the bird, and the vitamin, trace elements and amino acid content of the feed etc. The effect of the most important mycotoxins on the poultry health and production are discussed. According to their effects mycotoxins can be divided into the next groups: a/acute primer mycotoxicosis, b/chronic primer mycozoxicosis, c/ secunder diseases caused by mycotoxins.
