Bypass protein in feeding of high-yielding dairy cows
2000
Schmidt, J. | Sipocz, P. | Sipocz, J.
In metabolic experiments performed with rumen-fistulated cows and rumen- and duodenum-fistulated growing bulls it has been found that, the treatment of poultry blood meal by orthophosphorous acid and the treatment of maize gluten and feather meal by glutar aldehyde further decreased the low ruminal protein degradability of these feeds. Treatment slightly decreased the postruminant digestibility of protein. Feeding of bypass protein concentrate compared with extracted sunflower meal decreased the ammonium content of rumen fluid with 31.3-36.5 percent.
