[Some possibilities of improving the precision of the live weight estimates of beef cattle at the age of 200 days]

The task of the present work was to analyse the mothers' age and weight impact on the weaning weight of the offsprings as well as to appraise the validity of the recommended correction values. Animals of three beef cattle breeds - Hereford, Limousin and Charolais - were used for the analysis on the research farm "Vecauce". The methodical principles are described. The results are presented in tables. Table 1 - correlation between mothers age and live weight and their offspring weaning weight and the live weight at the age of one year; table 2 - influence of different factors on birth weight of the offspring; table 3 - regression of offspring live weight on live weight or age of mothers.
