1999
Jamera, E.J. | Samson, A.T. (Department of Agriculture-Caraga Region, Masao, Butuan City (Philippines))
The growth and yield performances of prawns reared in cages and fed with kuhol, trash fish and a combined kuhol-trash fish diet were tested at Masao River [Butuan City, Philippines] for a culture period of 120 days. The diets were analyzed for their protein content necessary for crustacean growth. Kuhol trash fish and the combined kuhol-trash fish diet fed alone did not significantly affect the growth rate of prawns. Kuhol (treatment 1) gave a higher mean weight gain at 33.48 g. Specific growth rate of prawns was almost uniform at 0.029 g. The feed conversion ratio was high with kuhol having the highest at 6.0. The survival rate was almost uniform at about 65 percent for the three experimental diets
