Comparative yield performance of okra cultivars under Islamabad condition [Pakistan]

Field experiment on evaluation of Okra cultivars was conducted at the premises of National Agricultural Research Centre (NARC) Islamabad, during summer 1995. The data reveals that MI-5 and Arka Abhay showed very poor performance at our climatic conditions and the main reason for their poor performance are: lower number of tillers/plant, pods/plant, pod size, pod weight and hence lower yield. Plant height was not found yield contributor in the present experiment as is reported in literature.
