The study defined the impact of monoculture (sugar beet, winter wheat, fodder pea and winter rape) and crop rotation on the S(tot) and S(S04), contents as well as the enzymatic activity of lessive soil. The soil was sampled from two depths of Ap horizon in May, June and September 1997. The highest contents of S(tot) and S(S04), were observed in the soils sampled from monoculture, whereas the highest enzymatic activity was noted for the soil sampled in June from the monocultural winter wheat plantation
