Aims and tasks for animal recording and breeding value evaluation of dairy cattle in Poland considering with European Union

Integration with EU will force restructurization in milk production (also in breeding herds) and will carry on of milk quality up to EU requirements, increasing at the same time the level of milk production. The number of cows under milk recording is assumed to increase from 372000 in the year 1997 to 400000 in the end of the year 1998 and to 500 thousands about in the end of the year 2000. The strategic aim of organization running the milk recording should be international acceptance of results throught joining the INTERBULL (international bulls evaluation). Results of animal recording and breeding value evaluation should be collected in one information system common for every organization connected with cattle breeding. It should be delivered to breeders and milk producers in such a way which help them to run their herds
