Growth and yield performance of 11 plum cultivars in the conditions of Olsztyn [Poland]

The objective of the study was to select the best plum cultivars for growing in the Olsztyn region. Trees were planted in the 4 x 3 m. Each cultivar was replicated four times in a randomized-block design. The following parameters were investigated: cross sections of trunks at the height of 30 cm from the surface of the ground performed in spring and autumn each year, productivity index; number of fruits per kg; mean fruit weight; mean stone weight; yield in kg per tree and in t/ha. Fruits were analysed for the content of dry matter, sugars, organic acids and vitamin C
