Use of slow release tabletted fertilizers Silvamix on growing fruit trees in commercial nurseries

Tabletted, long-term soluble fertilizers of the series SILVAMIX represent a prospective product of Czech provenience. The experiments were carried out in 1993-94. Seedlings in containers were placed in growing cages on the soil surface covered with black plastic foil. Grafted apple trees (rootstock M9, cultivars Rubin, Melrose, Doris, James Grieve, rootstock species Prunus davidiana and cuttings of black currant and an interspecific hybrid Josta were used in experiments. Parameters under study involved length and number of annual shoots, heigt of plants, weight of aboveground part and roots, damage by low temperatures and percentages of Mg in leaves
