Evaluation of disposable water supply in soil for biosphere in the area of Zitny ostrov

Presented study is dedicated to problem of determination of water supply in unsaturated zone of soil in the area of Zitny Ostrov. This water serves as water resource for plant cover. Method of calculation is based on information about zones of soil types in this region, soil depth, respectively thickness of zone unsaturated with water, ground water level and independent course of determined characteristic points of moisture retention curves of particular soil types, i.e. wilting point (BV), point of decreased availability (BZD) and point of field moisture capacity (PVK). Calculated values of water content for particular soil types and thickness of aeration zone are compared with monitored water content in selected localities of this area during one selected year. Presented comparison verifies possibility of application of presented method
