In the project of Soil monitoring, monitoring of content and quality of soil humus is also realized. In addition to organic carbon content, proportion of carbon in humic and fulvic acids and mainly chemical structure of humic acids (elemental analysis, carboxylic groups, optical parameter and 13C NMR parameters) were also determined on top soils and subsoils of eight typical key monitoring localities. On the basis of receiving data it can be deduced, that the arable soils are characteristic by middle humus content in contrary to grassland, where amount of organic carbon is significantly higher. In cormparison of top soils and subsoils, C sub(org) in top soil is slightly higher. Data obtained from the chemical and spectroscopic analyses show considerable differences in soil humus quality among soil types
