The group of Cambisols was divided into the two main groups: agriculturally used soils and permanent grassland and four subgroups, Cambisols developed on: 1. volcanic rocks, 2. flysh, 3. acidic substrates and variagated shales, 4. limestones and other calcareous substrates. pH/H2O values of humic horizons (0-0.1 m) vary in the range 9.19 to 7.26. The substrate effect was significant in deeper horizons. The anthropogenic influence (soil cultivation) increased in upper horizons what is confirmed by the higher pH values in humic horizons in agriculturally used soils. Changes in time were evaluated by Wilcox test and show statistically unsignificant changes of pH between 93 at 97 year, although the slight tendency to acidification was observed. Such tendency is unfavourable in the case of high negative correlation degree between pH and labile aluminium content. There were found statistically unsignificant changes of labile aluminium content between 93 and 97 year, too
