Conservation technology of unique characteristic plants in vitro were developed since 1985 at Horticulture Dept., Kasetsart univ. and the Royal Chitralada projects. It had been studied in many plants such as Arthocarpus heterophyllus, Ervatamia coronaria, Magnolia coco, Talauma candollei, Terminalia chebula tested were successfully regeherated in vitro. For nearly every species, multiple shoots were produced from stem buds cultures on woody plant medium and MS medium containing BA. Rooting occurred in media containing IBA at 0.5-1 mg/l. Several species could be stored in vitro more than 3 years without subculture which was better than using low temperature technique. Cryopreservation technique were used to successfully store shoot tips culture in liquid nitrogen but resulted in tissues which were difficult to regenerate. Shoot in vitro were transplanted in rooting medium could initiated roots.
