In 1994 growing season, series of corn on-farm trials were conducted in farmers' fields including commercial, precommercial and fertilizer trials in order to generate and appropriate technology for Thai farmers. 1.Commercial trial Convoy 93 produced the highest yield of 6,674 kg/ha which was 6 percent higher than SW3504, the check variety. Other hybrids outyielded the check variety were Pioneer 72A, Cargill 755, Cargill 988 and DK999. 2.Pre-commercial trial 2.1 Early rainy season Cargill51230100 gave the highest yield across locations of 5,964 kg/ha which was 19 percent higher than that SW3101, the check variety. there were 12 hybrids with their average yield higher than SW3101 by 2-19 percent and 10 hybrids with average yield ranging 88 percent of SW3101 2.2 Rainy Season Cargill51230100 produced the highest yield of 6,581 kg/ha which was 20 percent higher than that of SW3101, the check. With an exception for SW1, UNI-H4815, CIBA5442 and KESX9401 all varieties were superior in grain yield to that of SW3101 3. Demonstration of the level of hybrids related to the use of fertilizer. The result a. There was a statistical difference in grain yield among the levels of hybrids. SW1 which is an open-pollinated variety gave the lowest yield of 3,112 kg/ha. The three-way hybrids (i.e., SW3603 and SW3604) gave yield ranging from 4-6 percent higher than that of SW3101 which is the check. While the single-cross hybrid i.e., SW3504, SW3601 gave yield higher than SW3101 by 13 and 18 percent, respectively. b.
