Total potential of biomass in Serbia (Yugoslavia) is 12.5 millions ton per years. From that mass 1/4 biomass it can to use for putting into ploughland or like spreader for the animals, 1/4 for food of animals, 1/4 for heat energy and 1/4 for other purpose. From total amount of biomass for producing heat energy 3,880.57 x 10**3 ton it can to save 1,317.51 x 10**3 ton light oil for combustion. The same amount of the diesel fuel to use in all agricultural production. The review of former investigations and experiences in the work with installations for briquetting of biomass was presented in the paper. It was concluded that the briquettes of biomass were very convenient biofuel for the market. Energetic briquettes are ecologically cleaner as a fuel than domestic coal.
