Obtained results showed that all investigated parameters depended on several factors including the crop ontogenesis, N fertilizers and the time of nitrogen application rate (before or after transplanting). During the leek ontogenesis the leaf area and dry matter production increased, as well as nitrogen uptake, LAI (leaf area index) and %I (light interception). RGR (relative growth rate) was hardly affected in the earlier stage of plants development and, therefore, this parameter decreased during the plant ontogenesis. Although, N fertilizer increased all investigated parameters (except RGR (relative growth rate)), the effect was depended on the time of nitrogen application. On the basis of these results were could suggest, as an optimum for leek plants, to apply N fertilizer urea in the concentration of 250 kg of N/ha after twenty days of plants transplanting (DAP).
