[The effect of modes of pruning and grapevine loadging with buds on the vegetative potential, fertility, grape quality and wine quality in the Blatina variety]

There were investigated various modes of pruning and load of the grapevines with buds in the Blatina grapevine variety. Depending on the applied pruning, different values of the fertility potential, fertility, grapes quality and wine quality were obtained. Increasing the load of grapevine with buds, vegetative potential of the variety decreases. The number of immature canes liable to freezing is increased as well as the percentage of canes infected with Phomopsis viticola. With the increase of load of grapevines with the buds the yield increases, but the wine quality decreases. To produce grapes the quality of which is within the boundaries of the top quality winemaking, short pruning with the load of around 24 buds per grapevine should be applied.
