[Comparative investigation of production traits in two strains of broiler chickens]

In this work production traits of Arbor Acres and Hybro broiler strain (which are present at Yugoslav market for many years) were comparative investigated. Investigation lasted 6 weeks and included 1000 day old chickens of both sexes, i.e. 500 chickens of each strain. On the basis of the results obtained it was found that the chickens of Arbor Acres had larger body mass at the start (38.94 g) and at the end of production (1999.3 g), as well as better feed conversion (2.03) and performance index (224.14), while the Hybro chickens had lower mortality (2.6%).
