The aim of this paper is to present the necessary knowledge for reclamation of the copper sites of South Central Africa (Democratic Republic of Congo, Zambia and Zimbabwe). The early stages, progress and current situation of the mining activity in the area are recorded. With the emergence of privatization, the urgent need of a reclamation policy regarding the sites has appeared. The present state of the vegetation occurring on the various outcrops, in the area under consideration, offers primary information. A metalliferous pollution's typology is suggested, followed by fundamental principles for the reclamation of these sites. In view of phytoreclamation, several aspects of copper flora are considered (namely plant diversity, biosystematic, phytogeographical, ecological and phytosociological aspects).
