The aim of the present research was to study meat poductivity of Polled Hereford bulls reared indoor and pasture-stall in the region of Strandja mountain.Research experiment was carried with 33 one year old male calves. The animals were split into two groups: control (19) - reared free stall and experimental one (14) reared on pasture. For calves of both groups was ensured an additional fattening period in the stall until reaching 450 kg slaughter live weight.Higher slaughter output (55.44%) and better meat/bones ratio (4.20:1) was found at stall rearement of bulls compared to the combined rearement, 53.04% and 4.03:1 respectively.Less internal fat (with 0.54%) and lower meat content in m.l.d. (with 0.17%) compared to stall rearement characteristics.
