Ichthyological survey of the Jevisovka river was performed at 15 localities in 1997-1999. Altogether 21 fish catches were performed resulting in 3,500 fishes of 26 species. Chub (Leuciscus cephalus) was the most frequent species and its occurence was demonstrated at 11 localities. Perch (Perca fluviatilis) and roach (Rutilus rutilus) were caught at 10 localities. Nevertheless, their populations in the river are simultaneously strengthened by fish migrating from ponds and reservoirs in the river basin. The following rare species were caught: Cobitis taenia (2 localities), Alburnoides bipunctatus (2 localities), Leuciscus idus (2 localities), Rhodeus sericeus (3 localities), Barbus barbus (3 localities) and Chondrostoma nasus (4 localities). No natural fish assemblages are present in the upper part of the river as the flow-through in this part is affected by manipulations on a pond cascade system. The highest abundance value was 15,690 specimens/ha with a biomass of 184.1 kg/ha (Rudlice locality), the highest biomass value was 392 kg/ha with an abundance of 5,489 specimens/ha (Pusty mlyn locality).
