Fish species diversity in the longitudinal profile of a large river (Elbe)

One of the first lists of fish living in the Czech part of the Elbe River was published in 1903. The most complete data set (1991-1993) from the whole longitudinal profile of the Elbe River (kms 100 - 1.080) was presented during the Magdeburg Meeting of the International Commission for Elbe Preservation in 1996. From nineties there are further fish data from the Elbe River near Hamburg (1995) and from the Northern Germany (Elbe River and tributaries - 1997).
