Logical and connectionist approach to artificial intelligence

Logical and connectionist approaches to artificial intelligence are described and compared. The method of using a priori knowledge for improving convergence and decreasing decision error of a neural network with adaptation algorithm back propagation of error is discussed. In the end, trends in so called new artificial intelligence are summarized.
