Tipburn incidence in chervil in response to day and night temperature alternations
2000
Kleemann, M. (Estonian Agricultural Univ., Tartu (Estonia). Inst. of Horticulture)
The aim of present investigation was to assess the effect of DIF on the height of plants and the tipburn incidence in chervil. The plants were grown in growth chambers with different temperature regimes: 1. negative DIF (-5 deg C)- temperature was set to 18+-1 deg C during day and 23+-1 deg C during night; 2. positive DIF (+5 deg C)- temperature was set 23+-1 deg C during day and 18+-1 deg C during night. The plants grown under negative DIF were smaller and less elongated than plants grown under positive DIF. The incidence of tipburned leaves was highest under positive DIF
