Forest stream discharge measuring by weir
2000
Kucsara, M. | Vig, P. | Mentes, Gy.
Streamflow is an important factor of the hydrologic cycle of forest covered watersheds. Streamflow is the amount of water, which is collected by the branchesof stream and left the catchment flowing away in the stream channel. The examination of streamflow formation, components and quantity change is an interesting area not only from the side of general hydrological cycle, but also ecological and technical hydrological point of view, too. In our research catch ments (in Coldwater Valley near Sopron) we use weirs with electronic datacollector for the measuring and registering of discharge. We summarized the basic principles of establishing, operating of weiers and the first experiences of its work.
