The "fok"(notch) has been a basic element in the floodplains management before the regulation of Tisza River. Through the man-made narrow canals the lower parts of the runoff area were filled with water, and by the retention of this water the locals gained significant benefit. The main elements of this multipurpose floodplain management were: orchards, forestry, grasslands, fishing, etc. For the rehabilitation the only chance nowadays are the areas within the dykes. This study revealed these locations imar-fok is presented Keszthely-areas.
