1998
Satake, Y. (Ehime-ken. Animal Husbandry Experiment Station, Nomura (Japan))
The author investigated the technique for developing Zoysia type grassland for grazing in the all season by oversowing of Temperate Grasses in autumn. The results are summarized as follows: The summed dominance ratio (SDR2) of Zoysia japonica and Temperate grasses was superior Z. japonica in summer and temperature grasses in winter. The cover of Z. japonica was 100% (may sowing) in spite of oversowing of Temperate Grasses in the three years after transplantation. It was concluded that oversowing of Temperature Grasses was an effective technique for developing Zoysia type grassland in the short period, and had an effect on the growth of Z. japonica
