We studied the effects of abscisic acid (S-ABA), TS303 which is a chemical compound made from Bracinolide and PDJ with is a chemical compound made from jasmonic acid. The growth promoting effects in rice under the low temperature conditions were recognized. A 100 ml of water solution of these compounds per a nursery box (60 x 30cm) were sprayed onto young seedling of 1.0 to 1.2 leaf stage before transplanting. After transplanting, these seedlings grew very well and panicle numbers and grain yield increased. The suitable concentration of S-ABA was 1 to 50 ppm. a 0.001 ppm of TS303 and a 1 ppm of PDJ had as same effects on growth promotion as S-ABA. At young seedling of 2.5 leaf stage, a 50 ml solution of S-ABA (10 ppm) or TS303 (0.01 ppm) per pot was sprayed and plants were kept under low temperature condition of 6 degrees C for seven days and the viabirity was investigated. The very high activity was recognized s compared with control. The culm length, panicle length, grain number s and thousand grain weight increased by spraying with a 100 ppm of S-ABA fourteen days before heading. A 0.01 or a 0.1 ppm of TS303 and a 0.1 or a 1 ppm of PDJ had the same effects on growth promotion as S-ABA
