Soil properties and reflectances of soil in visible and infrared wavelengths were evaluated for 37 soil samples from 14 series in Hyunduk-myun, Pyungtaek-city, Kyunggi-do province. Iron content of the soil was correlated to the reflectance of blue wavelength in visible wavelenght. Organic matter content was correlated the reflectance of red, green wavelengths, and to that of 0.7-0.8 micro meter wavelength in infrared. Reflectance was decreased in full spectrum of visible wavelength or in red wavelength with increased content of iron or organic matter in the soil. Paddy and upland soils showed different reflectance in blud and green wavelengths. Reflectances in infrared wavelength were slightly different for soil texture.
