1999
Morita, A. (Shizuoka-ken. Tea Experiment Station, Kikugawa (Japan)) | Ikari, T.
At Makinohara in Shizuoka Prefecture, the acidity and the concentration of the elements in the rain during one year (October 1994 to September 1995) were analyzed. 1. The amount of rainfall during the survey was 1,528mm, that was lower than the average, by as much as 700mm. The number of times it rained was 57, of which 93% were acid rain (under pH 5.6), and the average pH of rainfall during the survey was as low as 4.4. 2. It was observed that the value of EC and the concentration of elements in the rain were higher when the amount of rain per day was lower (under 15mm.day(-1)). 3. It was suggested that almost all of Cl(-), Na(+) and Mg(2+) and 18% of SO4(2-) in the ran originated from the sea salt aerosols. 4. As compared with the previous survey (November l978 to October 1979), the average concentrations of NO3(-), K(+), Ca(2+) and NH4(+) in this investigation were 5 to 8 times higher. And these results show that the pollution of the atmosphere was more serious. 5. The amounts of inorganic nitrogen, K2O, CaO and MgO in the rain were 12.2kg, 9.8kg, 25.3kg and 3.6kg.ha(-1).year(-1), respectively
