Some mid season maturing apple cultivars under trail in Murree Hills [Pakistan]

The three Cultivars viz. Kandhari, Kashmiri Amri and Mashadi, bloom at the same time during the second week of April, (1999- 2000). Kandhari fruits were significantly larger in size index (60.42 mm) as compared to minimum size index (45.44 mm) in Mashadi. Fruit weight was maximum (110 gm) in Kandhari and minimum (76.12 gm). in Mashadi. Similarly maximum number of fruit per tree (355) and weight (39.05 kg) was attained by Kandhari and least in Kashmiri Amri. Maximum TSS were noted in Mashadi while minimum in Kandhari. Although Kandhari gave more production but Kashmiri Amri and Mashadi recommended for attractive colour.
