The weather conditions in the years of investigation and the type of soil significantly influenced the infection of tubers with Helminthosporium solani. The higher density of soil the stronger infection of tubers with pathogen was observed. Relation between the total precipitation and mean soil temperature in August and the infection of potato tubers with Helminthosporium solani was significantly different. The higher total precipitation the stronger infection with Helminthosporium solani and higher share of infected tubers were observed. The infection of tubers increased when the soil temperature at the depth of 10 cm decreased. Those relations were closer on lighter soils than on the heavier ones
