On ten selected research plots a modified way of pole stand tending, named minimal tending has been investigated. The method is based on selection of smaller number of trees as in classical way of tending, which are helped with removal of their competitors. Such selected trees are called trees of the future and are three times less frequent in number as selected trees under a classical rule of tending. Results of applied survey show the forest expert opinion coming from Nazarje forestry area is very much in favour of accepting a modified way of pole stand tending, and furthermore forecasts high economies in times for marking trees, that is 30 percent, and with execution of tending, which is 20 percent. But, results of time monitoring of execution of tending in the second part of research do not confirm the expressed opinion. Above all, the possibility exists that with stronger measures taken, the future cuttings were delayed. The authors suggest other solutions to extend a range of tending work which is very much behind the planned.
