[History of research, presence and perspectives of pheromone methods of forest protection against bark beetles]

The history of research and use of pheromone methods of bark beetles control, mainly in coniferous forests of Slovakia, during twenty seasons from their first experimental application in 1979 is analyzed. Attention is paid mainly to the development of domestic preparations IT-Etokap, PCHIT-Etokap, then to the development of the series Ecolure. An extent of present use of pheromone trap methods in Slovak spruce forests is reviewed briefly and perspective of the development of new preparations for bark beetles control in coniferous as well as braodleaved forests is given
