Population dynamic of white leaf disease vector Matsumuratettix hiroglyphicus in Chonburi and Rayong cane fields were studied. The vector population showed the same distribution pattern every year, with high population in rainy season during late May to early November and decreased in dry season during late November to early May. In epidemic area where amount of vector and inoculum source are high the white leaf disease incidence relate clearly with vector population dynamic. In testing plot, cane planted in October during high vector population period showed high number of infected stools since plant cane while cane planted during November to April showed some infected stool lately in ratoon cane.
