The study relied on data collected from 94 shrimp farmers, randomly selected, and 6 cold storages who bought shrimp from Amphoe Pak Phanang. The results show that Ban Laem Village had the largest private and social net profits i.e. 2.20 million baht and 1.02 million baht per farm annually, following by Bang Taeud, Koa Nang Doi, Bang Kong Khong, Sang Wiman and Bang Luk respectively. Bang Srichan Village lossed both in term of private and social returns. The results of domestic resource cost ratios showed that Ban Laem Village had the lowest domestic resource cost ratio, i.e. 0.33, following by Sang Wiman 0.62, Koa Nang Doi and Bang Kong Khong, 0.70 each, Bang Taeud 0.73, and Bang Luk 0.86 Bang Srichan had the largest domestic resource cost ratio being 3.59. In conclusion, there should be a promotion on coastal shrimp culture in Ban Laem as the first priority, following by Sang Wiman, Koa Nang Doi, Bang Kong Khong, Bang Taeud, and Bang Luk in that order. These should not be any promotion for the culture in Bang Srichan.
