New assessment is given of agriculture where an intensive process of accumulating energy is taking place. Prospects of the development of Ukraine's agriculture will depend on permanent increase in energy consumption. The history is considered of economic and energy and demographic development of Ukraine's agriculture. Reorientation is observed of agriculture on the priority development of plant production as compared to animal husbandry in recent 150-200 years. Since the middle of the 50-ies in the area the process of growing expenditures for the accelerated use of such elements of intensification, organic fertilizers and soil improvers, construction of production purposes buildings was taken place. The level of energy activity of the society in agrolandscapes has a great influence on their productivity. In the 10-20-ies and the second half of the 80-ies of the XX century a technocratic model of intensification of the agrarian sphere reached its highest level. The dynamics of energy effectiveness of anthropogenic expenditures in the domestic agricultural production in the course of the XX century was characterized by the complex sinusoid-like dependences. The thought is expressed that the absence of the actions aimed at more intensive resources management became one of the most serious flaws of the agrarian policies of that period. As a result of increasing in the arability of the agricultural lands and extending sown lands under tilled crops structural characteristics of Ukraine's landscapes regarding potential ability of solar energy consumption significantly worsened during the first half of the century. Further those trends became conservative. The structure and pattern of land use in Ukraine caused significant disbalance between expenditure and energy factors. This historically caused stable negative line of renovation of soil fertility potential. Technogenic pattern of agricultural development turned to be connected directly with increase in soil mineralization which reached the highest figures by the mid-fifties. Further positive changes observed regarding increase in effectiveness of the use of soil power potential and total balance of recreating their fertility. So, in the second half of the 80-ies annually 80-85 % soil mineralized their organic matter. The results of studying the fundamental processes in the development of the home agrarian science were generalized. Recommendations are given on further development of the agrarian sphere in Ukraine
