Golubovic-Curguz, V. ("Srbijasume", Beograd (Yugoslavia). Institut za sumarstvo)
The fungus Ophiostoma piceae was isolated from a stump of a dead sessile oak. Some physiological properties of the fungus were researched in the laboratory (effect of different temperatures and medium nutritiveness on mycelium growth and enzyme activity). The isolates showed physiological activity at the temperatures 6-31 deg C. The optimal temperature for mycelium growth was 24 deg C. Different media (MA and selective MA) did not affect mycelium growth essentially. Oxidases were analysed on MA medium with gallic acid or tannic acid. The isolates showed oxidation of gallic and tannic acids and approximately equal growth on both media, so they are classified as group 7, after Davidson.
