The effect of supplementation of these two enzymatic preparations Hostazym-C and Enzymix-Z to diets for fattening chicks on gain, feed conversion and mortality, was invetigated. Investigations were carried out on one day old chicks, Arbor Acres hybrid, in the period from 1 to 42 days. During the trial, chicks received isoprotein and isoenergetic diets with or without the supplementation of above mentioned enzymatic preparations. Both enzymatic preparations were added in the quantity of 50 g/100 kg of diet food. Supplementation of enzymes to standard diets for fattening chicks showed positive effects on the gain of body weight, feed conversion and mortality. At the end of the first fattening period (28. day), chickens fed diets containing enzymes had 1.3% (Hostazym-C) to 3.1% (Enzymix-Z) greater body weight, and by 5.3% better feed conversion (Enzymix-Z). In the second fattening period (29-42 days), the supplementation of enzymes affected positively the gain of body weight and feed conversion. The gain was greater by 2.8 to 11.9%, and feed conversion more favourable by 24.8 to 32.1% compared to the control. Mortality for the entire fattening period was 3.6 to 5.6%. Based on the obtained data it can be concluded that the supplementation of mentioned enzymes to diets for fattening chicks has a positive effect on gain of body weight and feed conversion.
