Data on a three year factorial field experiment, conducted on eight field experimental station, with corn (hybrid H 708) were used to this end. As the number of years is small for the risk assessment the ratio between the mean yield and the variance of maximal yield, estimated for the analyzed models, have been used. This approach is preferable when the small samples of data is available. The estimated risk levels for different plant densities and models do not significantly differ under the same nitrogen and water treatment combinations. The soil role as a risk factor is extremely important. Under favorable soil conditions for corn production the variation of plant density does not influence significantly the risk level.
