A comparative study was carried out of the design and performance characteristics of the 6-row maize headers "CLAAS-6-70" and "FKA-601" to the "CLAAS DOMINATOR-106" combine harvester and "MFKA-6013" and "ACR-6E" to the "E-516" combine harvester. The disign characteristics investigation showed that the total losses with all four headers did not surpass 1%, the average cutting wudth was between 33 and 40 cm, the smallest one being with the "FKA-6013" and the largest one with the "ACR-6E", the amount of the uncut stalks being relatively high: 20% in operation with the "CLAAS 6-70", 27.6% with the "FKA-6013" and 25.2% with the "ACR-6E", and the stubble height was the smallest in operation with the "FKA-6013" and the largest with the "CLAAS 6-70". The resulting performance characteristics showed that all four headers feature high technological and performance reliability.
