About 2,350 ha of spruce forest stand were limed at the Horni Blatna during summer 2000. Spreading of dolomite lime was organised by Forests of the Czech Republic within the EU PHARE programme. Samples of humus and upper mineral soil horizons were taken and analysed both before (May 2000) and after (October 2000) dolomite application. First results show increase of Ca and Mg contents, pH(KCl) values did not change significantly. The effects of liming are expected to grow in next five to ten years. In this period, the soil chemistry will be followed.
