Rape meal contains about 6.4 g/kg of phenolic compounds. The most important of them are sinapic acid and sinapine. Sinapic acid concentrations in different rape varieties cultivated in the Czech Republic vary from 541 to 799 mg/100 g, other compounds concentrations are as follows: sinapine 1.35 - 2.27 %, phytin 0.32 - 0.90 % (in extracted rape meal), tannin 1.50 - 1.96 %. Besides the variety, other factors such as developmental stages and age of the plant may play a role in variability of phenolic compounds concentrations.
